Fair Use Policy

SpecNet Fair Use Data Policy:
SpecNet has adopted the FLUXNET and AmeriFlux fair use data policy (stated below) and has additionally established three levels of data access. Each SpecNet data set will be given an access level of unrestricted, notify Principal Investigator, or restricted. Only data sets with an "unrestricted" or "notify PI" level of access will be made available on the SpecNet website. For restricted data sets only the metadata and contact information will be provided. Anyone wishing to use restricted data sets is invited to contact the appropriate principal investigator to determine if a mutually agreeable arrangement can be established for data use.

FLUXNET and AmeriFlux Fair Use Policy:
Kindly inform the appropriate Principal Investigators of how you are using site data and of any publication plans. If the Principal Investigators feel that they should be acknowledged or offered participation as authors, they will let you know and we assume that an agreement on such matters will be reached prior to publishing and/or use of the data for publication. If your work directly competes with the Principal Investigator's analysis they may ask that they have the opportunity to submit a manuscript before you submit the one that uses their data. In addition, when publishing, please acknowledge the agency that supported the research.
